Traveling Wall

Vietnam veterans memorial makes a four-day stop in the Southern Nevada city of Laughlin.
BY NEVADA MAGAZINE | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2013

Main_Memorial_WallFrom November 8-11, the American Veterans Traveling Tribute is displaying the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Laughlin.

The public is invited to view the wall, which honors, remembers, and pays tribute to the brave soldiers who have made sacrifices to protect freedom and liberty in the United States.

The 370-foot-long replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. contains more than 50,000 names as inscribed on the original. The 80-percent scale reproduction stands eight feet tall at its apex.

The wall can be viewed 24 hours a day in the north parking lot of the hotel and is free to the public. Visitors are invited to make rubbings of the names of their fallen loved ones.

There are donation boxes on site for Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items, and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions across the world.
