Web site takes Grand Award in 2008 competition for communications professionals.
Nevada Magazine’s Web site, NevadaMagazine.com, has won its second prestigious award of 2008. Recently, the Web site was given a Grand Award in the 20th annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. Of the close to 4,500 entries, only 120 received Grand Awards, the highest recognition APEX judges can present.
Following is a short description of the competition from the APEX Web site: APEX 2008 awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry — in the opinion of the judges — in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. About Nevada Magazine, the APEX judges said: “From a good site to a superb site, the organization is elegant and easy with fast opening pages loaded with beautiful photography, clean type, and interesting stories.” For a complete list of Grand Award winners, click here.
Earlier this year, NevadaMagazine.com earned first place in the 2008 National Headliner Awards, one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic merit in the communications industry. The Press Club of Atlantic City gave NevadaMagazine.com top billing in the “Magazine Affiliated Online Journalism” division, calling the site “an in-depth portal giving a pictorial sense of place and possibilities with an online magazine flair.”
