I was born in Elko and grew up in Spring Creek in a house that looked out on the Ruby Mountains. As a kid, I spent my summers in McGill and Ely, and White Pine County will always hold a fond place in my memory. I moved to Reno in 2007 and studied education. During college, I worked as a wildland firefighter near Pioche and traveled all around the state over five summers. I taught high school in Yerington for two years and then at a variety of schools in the Reno-Sparks area. I am happily now the Associate Editor for Nevada Magazine. When I’m not moving from one city to another, I enjoy woodworking, podcasts, and spending time with my partner Jessica and our two cats.
