Don’t let winter’s chilly temps keep you inside!

Put on your warmest coat and boots and join the Animal Ark over the holiday weekends! Reno’s icy weather is perfect for viewing lynx, bobcats, cougars, wolves, and other wild residents playing in the winter wonderland. At 6,000 feet elevation, Animal Ark gets extra love from Mother Nature in the wintertime, so be sure to dress accordingly. Call prior to heading out, as Animal Ark will update a voicemail recording to reflect any changes due to weather or facility conditions. Golf cart transport will not be available. 

When: Jan. 16-17 and Feb. 13-14, 11 a.m. through 3 p.m.

Animal Ark is a nonprofit organization that houses animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Glass viewing areas offer visitors a window into nature as they see wildlife in natural habitat exhibits. Educational programming is scheduled for Washoe County schools throughout the year, and special events offer recreation education for all ages during open season, April 1 through Nov. 1, Tues.-Sun. 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
