Mark Estee Hosts ‘An Artisanal Affair’ at Heritage
Heritage Restaurant at the Whitney Peak Hotel recently opened under the direction of Mark Estee, a James Beard Foundation Best Chef: West Semifinalist 2013 and one of northern Nevada’s most celebrated chefs and restaurateurs. Committed to locally sourced foods, Estee will partner with The Fare Trade—which delivers chef-curated baskets of small-batch culinary products to members each month— to host “An Artisanal Affair” on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Heritage.
The cocktail reception and four-course dinner will highlight Estee’s approach to creating rustic, full-flavored dishes and dedication to support of the Slow Food Movement. Inspired by his recent collaboration with The Fare Trade where he provided members restaurant-quality recipe tutorials utilizing artisanal epicurean ingredients sourced from across America, the evening will be focused on toasting good food, great company, and an appreciation for the food revolution at work across the nation.
Throughout the meal, guests will be introduced to such new products as Chipotle Olive Tapenade from All Spice Café, Drunken Monkey Jam from The Jam Stand, and Ayocote Blanco Beans from Rancho Gordo. To complete the experience, the ticket price includes membership to The FareTrade.
